Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch FC will play in front of a sold-out stadium during their MTN8 final after tickets were all snapped up in a matter of hours.
The MTN8 final tickets went on sale on Monday from 10am but by Tuesday morning, the PSL confirmed that they were all sold out for the clash set to be staged at the Mbombela Stadium on September 13.
“Gates at the stadium will open at 1400, and all ticket holders are urged to arrive early to ensure smooth entry. No tickets will be sold at the venue,” said a statement from the PSL.
Can Pirates make it perfect four?
“Spectators can look forward to an exciting line-up of pre-match entertainment, with details to be revealed soon. Supporters who were unable to secure tickets are encouraged to follow the action live on SuperSport PSL Channel 202 and SABC 2.”
Pirates are going for an unprecedented fourth MTN8 title in a row after becoming the first team to win it three times on the bounce last year under former coach Jose Riveiro.
Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is therefore keen to emulate his predecessor by winning the trophy but face a hungry Stellenbosch, who lost last year’s final 3-1.
The two sides have had contracting fortunes this season with Pirates on a five-match unbeaten run, which includes three straight wins in the league, while Stellies have two wins over that period plus as many defeats and a draw.
