The Premier Soccer League have confirmed there will be no trophy handover in the Motsepe Foundation Championship this weekend amid ongoing DC case.
It is understood Durban City, who are the current leaders of the second-tier league standings, have been featuring an irregularly registered player throughout the season.
The KZN side is at the summit of the table having accumulated 55 points from 29 league games this season.
They are set to face Cape Town Spurs on Sunday, 18 May in what was set to be their last match and a day for trophy handover.
The PSL has announced that the Championship trophy will not be handed over immediately due to a matter involving Durban City that could potentially affect the final league standings.

PSL STATEMENT ON MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP SAGA
“It has been the practice of the National Soccer League over the past few years to hand the Motsepe Foundation Championship Cup trophy to the team at the top of the division standings
after the last match of season,” the PSL announced via a statement.
“Unfortunately, certain matters referred by Member Clubs in the division to the Prosecutor and/or disciplinary bodies have not yet been finalized.
“It is not clear to the NSL how, and to what extent, these matters may impact the final standings in the division.
“The League has decided to delay the Cup handover while these matters are being addressed by the appropriate decision-makers.
“The NSL will use its best endeavours, to the extent permissible under the NSL Handbook, to ensure these matters are finalized as expeditiously as possible and will keep Member Clubs.”
