Siwelele FC are set to unveil Nigerian striker Chibuike Ohizu, who joins the club from Sekhukhune United in a move aimed at strengthening their attacking depth for the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.
While the exact details of the deal remain undisclosed, sources close to the club confirm that Ohizu has agreed to terms and will be officially presented in the coming days.
The 28-year-old forward had been seeking more game time after falling down the pecking order at Sekhukhune, following the arrival of Bradley Grobler and the resurgence of Keletso Makgalwa.
Ohizu had signed a contract extension earlier this year, keeping him at Sekhukhune until June 2027, but a lack of minutes, just two starts and four substitute appearances this season.
Career Overview
According to Transfermarkt.co.za, Ohizu is currently valued at €900,000. He began his South African football journey with Leruma United, before moving to Jomo Cosmos in 2018. He joined Sekhukhune United in 2020 and played a pivotal role in their promotion to the top flight.
During his time at Sekhukhune, Ohizu made 117 appearances, scoring 30 goals and providing 3 assists, establishing himself as a reliable and hard-working centre-forward.
Reunited with Seema
Siwelele head coach Lehlohonolo Seema, who previously worked with Ohizu, is expected to give the striker a fresh start and a key role in the team’s attacking setup.
It is interesting to see if Ohizu will break into the Super Eagles team for future assignments.
With Siwelele currently top of the Betway Premiership after five matches, the addition of Ohizu could provide the extra firepower needed to maintain their momentum.
The club is expected to unveil Ohizu at their next fixture away to Durban City at Chatsworth Stadium on September 16.
