In a tactical pre-match assessment, Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has addressed the absence of Nigerian talisman Victor Osimhen, dismissing the idea that it gives his side a major advantage.
Broos, known for his no-nonsense approach, noted that the Super Eagles are more than capable of adapting without the star striker.
Osimhen, the 26-year-old Galatasaray forward, was forced out of Nigeria's last match against Rwanda with a bruised chin following a challenge and was ultimately ruled out of the Bafana fixture.
Despite the blow to Nigeria's attack, Broos firmly believes that coach Eric Chelle's squad has enough depth to compensate.

This perspective suggests Broos is not underestimating his opponent, highlighting his focus on a collective team effort rather than relying on the weaknesses of their rivals.
‘THE COACH HAS LOTS OF OPTIONS TO REPLACE HIM’
“We also have injuries and I think Osimhen is a very good striker,” said Broos during the pre-match press conference at Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.
“But I think the coach has lots of options to replace him.”
The Free State Stadium is the venue for the highly anticipated match between the two African giants, which is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, at 18:00.
