Samkelo Zwane of Amakhosi and Masandawana duo of Gomolemo Kekana and Bathusi Aubaas dominated the midfield against Dikwena tsa Meetse as Riveiro's team claimed a 3-0 win.
Carling All-Stars team – that was made up of players voted by the fans, scored their three goals through the Glamour Boys pair; Zwane scored and provided an assist with Naledi Hlongwane claiming a brace.
Riveiro lauds Chiefs and Sundowns stars
“I think Zwane, Kekana, and Aubaas in the first half, the three of them, they gave us a different level in the middle of the park, I think it was a space where the game was dictated,” the Spaniard said after the game.
“They made the difference to finally find these boys, Rele, Ashley in the first half in really good positions, also in the second half, paired with Kekana, Zwane did a good job to give us more control of the second half, not making mistakes in possession.
“He was really generous to help our centre-backs in the closing stages of the game and in the second half when Magesi started to accumulate more players in the second line, so I think the centre of the team today was crucial to dominate the second half with possession and to give us speed in circulation in the first 45 minutes.”
Last season, Riveiro once again helped All-Stars team beat former Carling knockout champions Stellenbosch 2-1.
