Sekhukhune United coach Erick Tinkler has given his assessment on Kaizer Chiefs after the two sides played a 1-1 draw in the Betway Premiership.
The two teams shared spoils with Sekhukhune scoring early in the game via Ngoanamello Rammala while Glody Lilepo netted for Amakhosi in a match played at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
This was the first match for the Phefeni Glamour Boys after winning the Nedbank Cup last week, ending the 10-year trophy drought.
Tinkler says they could have gotten a second to secure the maximum points in the game. However, he expressed delight that they got a point from a team that came with their tails up after winning a trophy.
TINKLER HAPPY WITH A POINT FROM THE CHIEFS CLASH
“We had to make a couple of last ditch tackles to prevent them from scoring when you don’t take your chances then the game goes the way it goes,” Tinkler told SuperSport TVas quoted by iDiski Times.
“I thought if we could get a second goal, we could at least kill the game off but was not to be. All to play for (in the last game).
“We didn’t lose today, we got a point against a team who obviously full of moral and confidence after the Nedbank Cup win.
“I think where they sitting in the league table is not the true story of the squad that they got and the brand of football they look to try and play.
“Last game of the season we have to go away from home which is not going to be easy against Arrowsand try collect maximum points.”
