‘Selfish & heartless Mayo denied Chiefs! Confused Lilepo should follow his father Nabi’

Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu played to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday night at the FNB Stadium in the Premier Soccer League.

Thandolwenkosi Methuseli Ngwenya, against the run of play, gave Usuthu a lead before Amakhosi got a chance to equalise through a penalty. However, Glody Lilepo's effort was saved by Darren Johnson.

Nevertheless, Mduduzi Shabalala made it 1-1 with a well-taken strike; Pule Mmodi thought he had won it moments later, but out of nowhere, Khanyisa Mayo who was in an offside position decided to touch a goal-bound effort, and the strike was cancelled.

Have a look at the reactions from the fans.

You are forgiven Mayo

Khanyisa Mayo let us down today. His selfish behaviour lacked maturity as he traded the team’s win for individual glory. Unfortunately, it has many implications, and our players at some point need to be held accountable. Anyway, great first half, we should also work on penalties –  Fistoz

You are forgiven, Khanyisa Mayo. Any striker with a winning mentality would have done the same – Khanyisa Mayo – Allien

We always find a way to make things difficult for ourselves. Glody Lilepo and Khanyisa Mayo cost us  – Mo Goat

Even if Khanyisa Mayo wasn't offside, he wasn't supposed to touch it because it was going in. What Mayo did was selfish and heartless. He was thinking for himself only. Mmodi was already celebrating his goal – Pole

Khanyisa Mayo denied Pule Mmodi a goal, denied Kaizer Chiefs three points, and Ethan Chislett his debut – Zandii

Imagine if Nabi was still the coach

It was written on the wall of the great Premier Soccer League that Kaizer Chiefs will never play MTN8 again – Akhanani Mpumelelo

By the time Kaizer Chiefs management realises that we need to hire a proper coach, the train would have left the station – Vukani Khwetshube Ka-Xhanga Nkasa

Lilepo is so confused; when he is supposed to shoot, he passes, and when he is supposed to pass, he shoots. This is another disappointing season – Sabelo Dvd Madlala

Glody Lillepo can also join his father, Nasreddine Nabi. He gave the game away alongside Mayo – Sithabiso Zulu
