Kaizer Chiefs youngster Mduduzi Shabalala is thankful that coach Nasreddine Nabi has trusted him from the start following his arrival at the club in July last year.
Shabalala is among key players for Chiefs and his importance to the side has been enhanced under Nabi who has played him in every game since his arrival at the club and the player has repaid the faith.
The 20-year-old has so far bagged four goals and added two assists in 12 games for Chiefs across all competitions and his talents were on show last weekend when he scored a brilliant goal to hand Amakhosi a 1-0 victory over Chippa United.
Shabalala keen to succeed under Nabi
Shabalala received the ball before weaving his way past his markers after which he unleashed a ferocious shot in the bottom corner to the delight of his coach and fans.
“The team has given us a role to play, everyone has his role to play,” Shabalala told the media as quoted by iDiski Times.
“And I think for me, the coach always tells me that I’m young in the game but with the talent that I have, I can go so far.
“So, I need to give my best and thanks to him for giving me and for always believing in me.”
Shabalala’s great form has seen Chiefs decide to extend his contract beyond this season with reports indicating that the Glamour Boys are ready to give him improved terms and tie him to a new deal as a way of fending off any suitors.
