Premier Soccer League heavyweights Mamelodi Sundowns have been urged to let Teboho Mokoena move abroad.
The 29-year-old produced a man-of-the-match performance on Thursday in Group A’s FIFA World Cup assignment against the Czech Republic. He converted from the spot with seven minutes to go to ensure Bafana Bafana secured a point in the 1-1 draw.

Since joining Masandawana from a now defunct SuperSport United in 2022, Mokoena has been consistent despite the consistent changes in the technical team.
There have been speculations about teams from England and other European nations chasing his services. Nevertheless, the Brazilians have been reluctant to let him go, just as they have been doing with the other stars in the team. Ex-Sundowns defender Thabo Nthethe has explained why Mokoena should be allowed to leave.
Let Mokoena leave! Sundowns told

“Mokoena has proven to be a key player at Bafana and at Sundowns, both locally and in the Champions League. Against Czech Republic, he showed he has grown and matured in the way he is taking responsibility and carrying the team. He only lost the ball here and there,” he told KickOff.
Since his days at SuperSport United, he has shown his talent and quality. The training that he got post-SuperSport improved him as a player.
“There was once a rumour that Al Ahly wanted him, and there was also a rumour of overseas teams wanting him. I think Sundowns denied that from happening because they could see he was and still is a key player for them.

“The boy deserves a chance to move overseas given how he has been consistent in his position. So, if the chance is there for him to go overseas, Sundowns should allow him to go overseas. I mean, Sundowns can always get a player to replace Mokoena,” Nthethe concluded.
