The midfielder has reportedly signed for Wydad Athletic Club after his stint with the Brazilians

Bongani Zungu has reportedly signed for Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club following his departure from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Zungu was among players who left the PSL champions after last season but he is now set to link up with his former coach Rhulani Mokwena who joined the Moroccan club this month.

There have been rumours that Mokwana had lured the midfielder to Morocco and the tactician even weighed in on the issue, saying there could be a possibility of a reunion in north Africa.

‘I love Bongs (Bongani Zungu), Bongs knows me’

“I love Bongs (Bongani Zungu), Bongs knows me, I know him. It's easier when you know the coach, the player knows you,” Mokwena told Thabiso Mosia on Game On.

“There is a possibility of (Zungu joining Wydad AC). He knows, if he doesn’t find anything, he knows my number and he can always contact me.

“It’s not to say the door is open, the door is closed. But He is very special to me.”

Zungu has reportedly completed Wydad medical

Now, according to reports in Morocco, the player has agreed to join and also completed his medical as he awaits his unveiling.

Wydad announced on Tuesday that they will be revealing the identity of their six new signings and Zungu is believed to be among them.

The former Rangers man made 13 league appearances for Sundowns last season before ending his two-year stay at Chloorkop.
