The two PSL sides have their work cut out in the preliminary rounds

Stellenbosch and Sekhukhune United have landed tricky opponents in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary rounds.

Following the draw that took place on Thursday, Stellenbosch were pitted against Nsingizini Hotspurs from eSwatini in the first preliminary round, while DR Congo's AS VITA await in the second round.

Sekhukhune United are exempted from the first round but they will take on the winner between ELGECO Plus of Madagascar and CD Luanda from Angola.

Tough opponents for ambitious PSL duo

They are tricky fixtures for the two South African teams who have ambitions of challenging on the continental front.

It is the first appearance in the CAF inter-club competitions for Stellenbosch while Sekhukhune went out at the group stage last season.

The opening matches will take place on the weekend of August 16-18 with the return legs primed between August 23 and 24.
