South Africa are among the 24 teams from the continent that have qualified for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to be played in Morocco from December 21 to January 18, 2026.
Having finished third in the most recent edition held in Ivory Coast, it is obvious fans in Mzansi are hoping for even a better outing in the forthcoming assignment.
Hugo Broos' men have been on a rising curve across all competitions, with the most recent being in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers where they topped Group C to get an automatic ticket.

For the 2025 AFCON, Bafana Bafana have been placed in Group B alongside Egypt and Zimbabwe.
How Bafana Bafana are preparing for AFCON
“We will start the preparations on the 8th of December. So, we will go to Tuks here in Pretoria and we will stay there until the 17th because we have to be in Morocco five days before the first game,” he told the media.
“So, the day before we leave, we will play a friendly game. We are looking at who we will play against. And then we play [group stages] on 22, 26 and 29. And let’s hope that we will remain there for next year [in the knockout stages].

“I still have to go to the World Cup draw. Probably, we will play Zambia on the 14th next month. After that, I go to Belgium for two weeks.
“After that, I fly to Washington for the draw and will be back to SA. Again, I would have liked to start a little bit earlier but yeah for the second time PSL didn’t collaborate because there’s Carling [Knockout] Cup final.
“I’m happy [Mamelodi] Sundowns and [Kaizer] Chiefs are already out,” Broos concluded.
