Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Collins Mbesuma has identified what he feels current strikers at the club lack.
Mbesuma, who played for between 2004 and 2005, scoring an incredible 35 goals in 33 leagues, a record yet to be broken to date, has given a damning verdict at the strikers at the club.
The Zambian thinks Chiefs strikers have disappointed first because they lack quality with the second reason being that none of them has nailed down a starting place which has not benefited any of them when it comes to continuity.

Chiefs currently have strikers Tashereeq Morris, Ashley Du Preez and Wandile Duba while they added Etiosa Ighodaro, Khanyisa Mayo, Flavio Silva and Luke Baartman in the off-season.

However, even with all those options, none of them has grabbed the role and made it his own with Morris yet to score since his January signing while Du Preez and Duba have not found the target this term, while Silva is the highest scoring forward with four.
Ighodaro and Mayo have one each while Baartman is yet to make his Chiefs debut, leaving Mbesuma heavily disappointed.
“Supporters are expecting a lot based on previous players because we set the bar,” Mbesuma said on SoccerBeat.
“When a striker comes, he has to have a presence and defenders need to fear you know. I have seen the strikers play one or two games, and then they are out [of the team]. There is no hunger.”
Can Amakhosi forwards rise to the occasion?

“I don’t see hunger, I don’t see strikers who want to win. They are not good enough, that’s why after six months they always bring in a new striker,” added the 41-year-old.
Chiefs justified the signing of more strikers as preparations for their CAF Confederation Cup as they hope to go deeper into the tournament but none of the strikers was on target when they lost 2-1 to Egyptian side Al Masry last weekend.
The Chiefs forwards have a chance to right those wrongs on Saturday when the Glamour Boys host Zamalek in their second group stage game in Polokwane.
