Things get worse at Orbit College as ex-Pirates attacker quits – ‘I wish things could’ve gone differently’

New Premier Soccer League side Orbit College have been facing both on-pitch and off-pitch issues.

Recently, there were problems between coach Pogiso Makhoye and Orlando Pirates loanee Monnapule Saleng. The tactician accused the winger of not giving his best for the club, alleging that the 27-year-old is not giving his best for the club, despite his quality.

However, it seems there are more problems since former Bucs striker Letsie Koapeng has announced his shocking exit from Mswenko Boys. The 33-year-old went into the history books as the player who scored his team's first-ever goal in the Premier Soccer League.

Since that win over Siwelele FC, things have not worked as the management might have anticipated. The team is currently 15th on the PSL table with three points from five matches played.

‘It wasn't my intention to leave Orbit'

“Sometimes the hardest decisions are the ones you make for your own peace.  It’s no secret that things took a bit of an uncomfortable turn for me recently, and after deep reflection, I’ve decided it’s time for me to move on. I’ve always given my absolute best every time I stepped onto the field, and I leave with my head held high, knowing I gave my heart to the badge,” he posted on his Instagram.

“To those who feel let down, I sincerely apologise, that was never my intention. I just did what I believed was best for me and my family. I wish things could’ve gone differently. I wish we could’ve achieved even more together with more time. But I also believe God has a way of doing things according to His will.

“To my teammates — we made history together!! I’ll forever be proud of that FACT and of each one of you. Some of my best football was played here.  To the coaching and support staff — from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your unwavering belief in me, your guidance, and your constant support have been a pillar in my journey. I am truly grateful for everything you’ve done.

And to the fans, Moswenko Nation, thank you for the love and support through it all. You’ve made this journey unforgettable, and I’ll forever cherish you. Wishing the club nothing but success moving forward. Orbit will always have my support,” Koapeng concluded.
