Kaizer Chiefs striker Ranga Chivaviro has struggled to make an impact for the Soweto giants since joining from Marumo Gallants at the beginning of the 2023/24 season.
In his last campaign with Bahlabane Ba Ntwa, the 32-year-old scored 17 goals in 30 games he played across all competitions. It explains why the Glamour Boys, who were desperate for an established forward, went for him.
However, things have not worked out as anticipated; in the 43 games he has played for Amakhosi, Chivaviro has scored just eight goals which is way below what was expected by his standards. It explains why Tashreeq Morris was signed in the January transfer window.

In his interview with SNL24, former Chiefs attacker Daniel Matsau has explained why Chiefs should let Chivaviro leave in the forthcoming transfer window.
He is going to struggle to score goals
“Though he is a good striker, I'm concerned about his movements. He doesn't create enough space for his teammates to find him. That's why they struggle to find him, which affects his ability to score goals. His movements around the box are not good,” he stated.
“He often hides from the ball, and most of the time, he positions himself at the far post or stands at the penalty spot. Those positions are for overlapping teammates and oncoming attacking midfielders. As a result, he is going to struggle to score goals.

“A striker should always be the first one to react to second balls. For me, I think they should let Ranga go because if Chiefs manage to find a new striker, especially now with Tashreeq Morris in the mix, I don’t think Ranga will play again. Every time Morris plays, there is a lot of movement up front, and there's no way they will play Ranga while keeping a fit Morris on the bench. Morris does things that Chivaviro can’t,” Matsau concluded.
