TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has announced the appointment of former Kaizer Chiefs forward as a new assistant coach and revealed the imminent arrival of a new head coach, following the departure of Sead Ramovic and his technical team.
The Serbian tactian Ramovic jetted off to Morocco where he’s set to pen a two-year contract with Raja Casablanca who head-hunted him after he impressed at Galaxy.
Sukazi has revealed that the new coach would be announced on Wednesday upon his arrival in SA.
WHEN TO EXPECT APPOINTMENT OF NEW TS GALAXY COACH
“The preparations to replace him began a three weeks ago as I’ve said that we’ve known this a while ago,” Sukazi told UKhozi FM.
“The coach who will come in will continue where Ramovic left off. He’s young but has a record and better than when Ramovic came because he didn’t have one.
“This one even coached in Africa and has succeeded. But from the football point of view, our philosophy is ball possession-based football, we wrote it down when we established the club in 2015.
“So I trust our new coach will continue where Ramovic left off.”
Meanwhile, he also confirmed that former Chiefs forward Bernard Parker has been promoted from DDC coach role to first team assistant coach.
He'll serve as the interim coach when the Rockets face Augsburg on Saturday, July 27th at 3 PM in the Mpumalanga Premier's International Tournament.
EX-CHIEFS FORWARD PROMOTED TO ASSISTANT COACH ROLE
“Bernard Parker will be there (as an interim coach on Saturday),” added Sukazi.
“We have also promoted from the DDC coach that we gave him. He will be the second assistant coach to the head coach.
“Thato means the coach will come with his first assistant and Parker will be the second. So, it’s three of them.
“Parker is also busy with his coaching badges.”
Sukazi acknowledged the difficulty of parting ways with Ramovic, given their close relationship and his significant contributions to the club.
“It was not easy at all to let him go, we’re very close and it’s hard when your other part just leaves you,” he said.
“But at the same time I looked at how much he has contributed in our club, his talent.
“I was hoping that a big club in South Africa could snatch him first but that couldn’t happen. That’s why even in Morocco they saw this talent.”
