Uncertain future looms for Chiefs shot-topper

Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari finds himself at a crossroads, with his future at the club looking increasingly uncertain as he's reportedly deemed surplus to requirements for the upcoming 2025/26 season, according to iDiski Times.

The Rwanda international's absence from the team's recent pre-season tour in the Netherlands was a telling sign, suggesting both player and club are prepared to bring an end to what has been an ill-fated stint for the 25-year-old.

Chiefs had high hopes for Ntwari when they lured him from TS Galaxy at the start of last season. The move, reportedly worth close to R6-million, was met with significant optimism, as Amakhosi aimed to bolster their goalkeeping department.

However, Ntwari struggled to establish himself in the starting lineup. The return to fitness of Brandon Petersen, combined with the impressive form of Bruce Bvuma, saw Ntwari fall further down the pecking order.

AS PER REPORTS, NO OFFERS CURRENTLY FOR FIACRE NTWARI

Despite the substantial investment, he couldn't carve out a consistent role.

At present, no concrete offers for Ntwari have been tabled to Chiefs.

The technical team has reportedly advised his exit, primarily to free up a crucial foreign player spot. This space is highly coveted, as it would allow the club to potentially bring in new, impactful foreign recruits ahead of the new campaign.

Right now, Amakhosi have not signed any new goalkeeper despite having faced challenges with their goalkeeping department, particularly in the past three seasons where they have been chopping and changing goalkeepers.

However, at some point, they were linked with Sekhukhune United shot-stopper Renaldo Learner.
