The teenager seems unaffected by the negative vibe he is getting from a section of South Africans.

Kaizer Chiefs youngster Mfundo Vilakazi has once again rubbished criticism against him, insisting the social media abuses can't affect him.

The 18-year-old has been in the limelight since his showboating incident in Amakhosi's 4-0 loss against Young Africans SC in the pre-season Toyota Cup.

The teenager insisted he would follow what coach Nasreddine Nabi advised him, and not what some fans feel about him.

The young attacker says he is not on any social media platform and can't see any negative energy geared toward him.

“I saw on social media people were criticizing me, I [don’t] think it affected me, but I deleted all my social media [apps] because people were texting me on Instagram saying [via DM] I don’t deserve to play for Kaizer Chiefs,” he told iDiski Times.

“So I thought I should just delete my Instagram for two weeks because people will always talk. The league will resume in a couple of weeks, and I will score. The very same people who were criticising me will say Mfundo deserves to play for Barcelona or something, but because we lost against Yanga they are saying I don’t deserve to play for Kaizer Chiefs, people will always talk – whether you are doing good or bad,” Vilakazi concluded.

Vilakazi shines for Amajita

The Glamour Boys midfielder is currently with the South Africa U20 team that played back-to-back friendly games against Lesotho.

Vilakazi scored in every game as the youth team claimed 3-1 and 4-0 wins respectively to boost their confidence.

Amajita are preparing for the Cosafa Cup which will also be used as the U20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
