The teenager is determined to deliver for the Soweto giants after their worst finish last season
Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Mfundo Vilakazi has shared the club's pre-season routine in Turkey ahead of the new season.
The Glamour Boys are under new coach Nasreddine Nabi who has no option but to deliver after the club's nine-year run without silverware. It explains why he has been given time with the players in Europe to have the opportunity to instill his tactics across all the departments.
Khalil Ben Youssef and Fernando Da Cruz are Nabi's assistants, while Ilyes Mzoughi comes in as the goalkeepers' trainer. Safi Majdi was brought on board as the team's conditioning coach.
‘The Glamour Boys are relying on me!'
One of the players who might end up playing a massive role for the Tunisian is Vilakazi who is giving his best to prove he has all the desired qualities to be a factor.
“My pre-season so far is very good because I’m someone who likes to work hard, and we work hard here,” Vilakazi told SuperSport TV.
“We train three times a day: in the morning, doing the jogging; during the day, we go to the gym and in the afternoon, we go on the pitch.
“I keep myself motivated by reminding myself that at home, they are relying on me, so if I give up, I would be disappointing my parents.”
The 18-year-old was heavily involved when Arthur Zwane was at the helm in the 2022/23 campaign. However, last season, he played just seven games across all competitions.
The teenager, just like anyone associated with the club, hopes the 2024/25 campaign will be the beginning of good things to come.
