Kaizer Chiefs' new striker, Flávio Silva, made his Amakhosi debut during the pre-season friendly against Vitesse in the Netherlands, a match they ultimately lost 2-1.
Nabi wasted no time in integrating his new players, selecting a strong starting lineup that featured recent acquisitions Thabiso Monyane and striker Flavio da Silva.
This decision not only showcased their rapid inclusion but also demonstrated a clear intent to blend seasoned experience with emerging talent, as youth prospects Aden McCarthy and Mfundo Vilakazi also earned starting berths.
Reeve Frosler broke the deadlock with a spectacular long-range strike that rocketed into the back of the net, leaving the Vitesse goalkeeper rooted to his spot and putting the Amakhosi deservedly ahead.
Dillan Solomons later scored an own goal, cancelling Frosler’s opener while Vitesse wrapped the match with AndyVisser’s strike with just under 20 minutes remaining prior to the final whistle.
Silva only played the first 45 minutes and was taken off before the start of the second half.
