WATCH: Mamelodi Sundowns stars in near fist fight after big win in Nigeria

Mamelodi Sundowns players Ronwen Williams and Lebo Mothiba left tongues wagging after they almost engaged in a fist fight after their huge CAF Champions League win in Nigeria.

Sundowns beat Nigerian champions Remo Stars 5-1 in the first leg of their CAF Champions League second preliminary round away on Sunday but their big win was overshowed by an off the pitch incident.

While the players were heading to the dressing room, Williams and Mothiba were involved in a heated argument with the goalkeeper nearly going for the striker before he was held back.

The two used strong words towards each other in the tunnel as they went to the dressing room but it is not clear what led to the argument after such a huge away win.

Sundowns have little time to rest

Sundowns took a 4-0 lead by the 75th after goals from Tashreeq Matthews, Peter Shalulile, Miguel Reisinho and Arthur Sales before Samson Olasupo pulled one back for Remo Stars but Tsiki Ntsabeleng completed the rout five minutes from time.

Williams was not tested much as Sundowns totally dominated the contest while Mothiba was a second half substitute but did not get on the score sheet.

Sundowns will have to put all that behind and focus on Tuesday’s PSL clash away to Sekhukhune United who will provide a different test given both teams are separated by just one point and Babina Noko can go top of the table.

Miguel Cardoso’s team will then focus on the return leg match against Remo Stars on Friday but they look to have put one foot in the group stages as clawing back such a huge lead will be a near impossible task for the Nigerian side.
