Were Chiefs carried against Al Masry in CAF Confederation Cup?

Kaizer Chiefs beat Al Masry 2-1 in Group D of the CAF Confederation Cup fixture staged at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

However, the Green Eagles’ coach, Nabil Kouki, was unhappy with the first goal by the Glamour Boys scored from the penalty spot courtesy of Flavio Silva.

Al Masry skipper was adjudged to have handled the ball in the danger zone, and the towering forward took full advantage of the situation.

Nevertheless, Abderrahim Deghmoum made the scores even, but the Soweto giants did well to find the back of the net courtesy of Aden McCarthy, to win the game.

Kouki was not convinced with the decision by the officials, which he feels was wrong.

Hands in a natural position?

“The penalty is like I’m not so convinced about it,” Kouki opened up to the presser after the fixture..

“I cannot say that the ref has the whole responsibility or was responsible because Kaizer Chiefs had a good game. But the penalty is a big decision to take. I can see from pictures that my player put his hands behind his back but I cannot say the ref took the game out of us.

“I can say Kaizer Chiefs played a good game.”

On Sunday, Chiefs will be away against Zamalek hoping to claim maximum points, or at least a draw to ensure they get the quarter-final ticket. Zamalek are second in the pool with eight points after a shock 1-0 loss to ZESCO United.
