After a challenging period that saw him sidelined for a long time due to a fallout at Orlando Pirates, Monnapule Saleng is set for a fresh start.
Orbit College coach Pogiso Makhoye shared that the 27-year-old winger is “excited about returning home,” following his loan move from the Buccaneers to the newly-promoted Orbit for the 2025/26 season.
This transfer marks a sentimental return to the club where Saleng's career originally began.
‘HE ALSO WANTS TO COME’
“He’s excited, because he wants to also come. We cannot bring a player who doesn’t want to be here, who is not going to help us,” Orbit College coach said on Radio 2000.
“I talk to him every day, he’s my son. He’s excited to come back home, to come and help the team.”

The Orbit coach also insisted that Saleng will be a perfect fit for his team, highlighting the player's invaluable ability to fill four different positions on the field.
“Even though it’s a bigger club, the football is the same. He knows the team, he knows me and what I want. I know him, what he can offer,” Makhoye added.
“I’m the one who developed him, I’m the one who made sure he can play in all the four positions – he can play as a 10, right wing, left wing, even as a striker.
“Having him and with the type of football that we play, he fits like a glove. He knows the team, he’s been here. Those who are coming from the outside will learn from him.
“We know he’s bringing goals, because I know he likes to score goals. Even in his last season here, in the ABC Motsepe he scored 27 goals, so I’m happy.”
