Kaizer Chiefs have been missing the services of their two experienced centre-backs, Given Msimango and Rushwin Dortley.
The former Cape Town Spurs defender underwent knee surgery after a knock he suffered against Mamelodi Sundowns in March. The former has been nursing a groin injury for some time now; he missed the last five games for Amakhosi last season, and has already missed two in the new campaign.
Amakhosi assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef has now revealed when the two players will probably return to action. He, however, warned that the duo will not walk straight into the starting XI since other players have delivered in their absence.

Latest on Dortley, Msimangoa and Kwinika
“I think with Dortley, he keeps working with our medical staff. They did a very good job with him,” the tactician told the media.
“Soon, I think few weeks, he will be back with us, he and Given [Msimango] will start training sessions with the team. I think last season, it was tough for us when we finished the season. We finished, let me say the last three games without a defender on the bench. Given was injured, Zitha [Kwinika] was injured, and Dortley was injured, then we promoted Aiden [McCarthy] to play the last two games.
“This season we start with Given and Dortley out, for sure, when they will be back, they will help the team with the experience they have, and also with confidence. They will fight for this position now. I think Aiden with [Inacio] Miguel, they perform very well, Zitha is coming, he is ready.
“Now they will be back, and it’s confidence. And we know when we have a lot of players, the level of the players begins to increase,” Ben Youssef concluded.
Kaier Chiefs have won their opening two Premier Soccer League matches; on Tuesday, they will face Richards Bay at the FNB Stadium.
