Why Jose Riveiro is wary of winless AmaZulu

Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro feels their win against SuperSport United will act as a catalyst in their clash with AmaZulu on Friday.

Riveiro’s men bounced back to winning ways on Tuesday when they secured a 2-0 victory against Matsatsantsa and they have two days to recover before they face AmaZulu who have lost all the four games they have played this season.

Usuthu are under new management in the dugout following the appointment of Arthur Zwane and Vusumuzi Vilakazi as co-coaches and while they will hope for some inspiration from the tacticians, Riveiro is confident that his team will cope with the challenges given they are high on confidence.

“In these types of moments of the season it goes without saying that winning is important but also for the recovery you know psychologically, you feel good after getting these three points,” Riveiro told SuperSport TV.

“It is going to be difficult to repeat again at home, getting another three points here. It is so difficult to win more than three games in a row in your own stadium but we are going to try.

“AmaZulu is a good team, it will be a tough opponent again like everybody when they come here to Orlando but we are going to find ourselves again in a good shape.”

Pirates moved to the maximum 12 points from four matches following the home win over SuperSport which leaves them top of the standings while AmaZulu are bottom without a point.
