Why Ncikazi was disappointed with Pirates fans over the past weekend

Orlando Pirates interim coach Mandla Ncikazi has expressed disappointment with the ‘Happy People’ following their recent match.

The Buccaneers drew 1-1 with TS Galaxy in their first game following the exit of their coach Jose Riveiro who’s reportedly set to join Al Ahly.

Ncikazi says the fans were supposed to come in numbers to back the team and celebrate what Riveiro had achieved with the club. However, he was disappointed with the numbers in the stands.

WHY NCIKAZI WAS DISAPPOINTED AT THE WEEKEND

“I can’t be sure, the coach had a big impact in the club,” said Ncikazi as per iDiski Times.

“But I thought they would use maybe this game [against TS Galaxy] as a way of celebrating his success and stay at the club, but how people respond to disappointment and such happenings is different.

“And unfortunately, I don’t have the capacity to measure that. It could be a possibility.”

Meanwhile, when asked about the players that the Sea Robbers want to sign for the next season, Ncikazi said: “I’m not sure if I’m relevantly the right person who can respond.”

“I think there’s a lot of assessment that gets done at the end of the season and I’m sure the wisdom that prevails in our club, if they see a need after analyses of possessions, contracts and a lot of other things, they’ll make the right decisions,” he added.

“But currently I think it would be jumping the gun if I were to respond in saying, ‘This one is right, this one we have to sign or not sign.’

“There’s a lot of reports to be submitted, and after that analysis and assessment, I think the relevant decisions will be taken.”
