Amakhosi have been overseas for new season’s preparations but a good number of players are missing.
Kaizer Chiefs are now more than a week old in Turkey where they are camping for pre-season ahead of the 2024/25 Premier Soccer League campaign.
Newly appointed coach Nasreddine Nabi is leaving nothing to chance, knowing he has a few options in his bid to turn the club's fortunes around. Amakhosi struggled in the previous campaign and went on to finish 10th on the table – their worst-ever conclusion.
Despite his wish to have a full house in Europe, Nabi has been forced to work without four members of the playing unit.
The Glamour Boys confirm four absentees in the ongoing preparations
Amakhosi are without their winger Tebogo Potsane, defender Dillan Solomons, midfielders George Matlou and Mduduzi Mdantsane due to injury. The club's physiotherapist David Milner has now shared the latest updates on the aforementioned players.
“Tebogo’s recovery from groin surgery is progressing well and he is expected to be back in training in about two weeks,” he told Chiefs' media team.
“Dillon had shoulder surgery, so he won’t be ready for roughly another nine weeks, although he has started running and rehabilitation.
“George is only expected back in October following his knee surgery. However, I am happy to report that he is in the gym and doing some light running,” Milner continued.
Chiefs planned for a three-week camp abroad to shape the players. So far they have confirmed that on July 28 they will play Yanga SC of Tanzania in the Toyota Cup.
The fans are anticipating new signings to bolster the squad. So far, only Bongani Sam has been added from Orlando Pirates.
