Bafana Bafana international Cassius Mailula is keen on getting enough play time in the 2025/26 Premier Soccer League campaign.
The 24-year-old recently announced his exit from Wydad Athletic Club following his one-season-long contract with the Red Castle expired. The versatile attacker had joined the then Rulani Mokwana-led team from Toronto FC.
Despite showing his will to continue playing for the Major League Soccer Club, Mailula's main concern is having a chance to play regularly. His agent Karabo Tshabuse has revealed the many offers he has received from the continent, Europe, and the Middle East.
‘We are a little cautious'

“Cassius is taking a break at home, we’ve agreed on timelines with Toronto, they’ve been so gracious,” he told Metro FM.
“They’ve also opened up to using giving them options. I have three offers on my desk at the moment. But we’re doing the same exercise. Experience is the best school for anybody – now we’re a little bit more cautious. We want to speak to head coaches, we want to understand what we’re getting into.
“I can reveal one [offer] is Egyptian, one of them is European, but ‘baby Europe;’ not the top five leagues and the Middle East. But we might announce something completely different, it’s that time of the season.
“The local guys have shown just support for Cassius, to want to understand what is going on with him, and he’s open to that, but at the moment we’re taking our time,” he concluded.
It is interesting to see where Mailula will end up playing after his initial struggles in North America.
