Young Africans want Mamelodi Sundowns winger – report

Published on by

Young Africans have reportedly enquired about a Mamelodi Sundowns winger as they look to strengthen their squad once more this transfer window.

The Tanzanian giants have been growing in leaps and bounds over the past years and have shown they can now compete with the big clubs in the market.

Their ability to retain players like Staphane Aziz Ki despite interest from big clubs in South Africa and North Africa shows how much they mean business with building a strong team.

According to Soccer Laduma, Yanga have enquired about Sundowns forgotten winger Abubeker Nasir who was not registered last season due to injury.

He has returned to training and was part of Sundowns’ pre-season. However, his future at Chloorkop still remains unclear.

Now, the Tanzanian side is looking to snap him up with Sundowns reportedly open to let him go.

YANGA INTERESTED IN SUNDOWNS WINGER

“Yes, there were other local clubs which were interested in him last season but they have been quiet now and the team that has inquired about him is the Tanzanian side, Young Africans (Yanga SC),” said the source to Soccer Laduma.

“There is nothing that has been concluded yet, as for now it's just an inquiry but with a lot of interest. So, we have to wait as to what will happen before the window period can close,” the source added.

The Ethiopian star still has a contract with Bafana Ba Style and Yanga would have to fork out whatever the Brazilians demand to get his services.

WHAT YANGA HAVE TO DO TO SECURE SIGNATURE OF SUNDOWNS’ WINGER

“The only thing which is the main one that is delaying the team to release him is the money issue,” the club’s insider said according to the report.

“He still has a contract with the club and if they are to release him on mutual agreement they have to pay him and that's what both parties are working at so if a team like Yanga can meet Sundowns halfway then it could be much better for both the club and the player. So, now they are waiting on Yanga as they have inquired about him,” the source stated.
