Kaizer Chiefs are set to host Zamalek on Saturday in the CAF Confederation Cup outing to be staged at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
Having lost the initial game against Al Masry 2-1, the Glamour Boys are desperate to get off the mark. They will, however, have to do it the hard way against the 2023/24 champions who beat Zesco United by a solitary goal.
It explains why their legend, Hossam Paulo, is anticipating a tough outing against the Soweto giants.
While Chiefs welcome Gaston Sirino – who missed the last game due to suspension, as well as Wandile Duba and Khanyisa Mayo, their visitors will miss their duo Dunga and Abdullah Al-Saeed.
It will be a tough outing
“Ahmed Abdel Raouf must be supported in his mission with Zamalek, and the Kaizer Chiefs match will be difficult because of the atmosphere,” he told 7adramout.
“I hope that the players will perform in a distinguished manner in order to send a message to the rest of the clubs in the Confederation Cup.
“Winning against Kaizer Chiefs is important to top the group, and the absence of Dunga and Abdullah Al-Saeed will be impactful, but Ahmed Abdel-Raouf must find suitable replacements for them.
“The upcoming matches for the team are life or death. Defensive security is important in the first quarter of an hour against Kaizer Chiefs, and I expect the lineup to be fixed except for Dunga after his absence due to injury,” Paulo concluded.
