Zambia Call Up Big Guns For Bafana Bafana Friendly

Published on by

Chipolopolo interim coach Moses Sichone has named a 41-member provisional squad ahead of Zambia’s international friendlies against South Africa and Burundi during the November FIFA window.

The squad features a blend of experienced internationals and exciting local league talent, including debut call-ups for Zanaco striker Eliya Mandanji, FC Muza midfielder Solomon Mpasela, Kabwe Warriors’ Yoram Chanda, and Mutondo Stars defender Aaron Musonda.

The squad also features top internationals such as Patson Daka, Fashion Sakala, and Lameck Banda, who plays in the Italian Serie A for Lecce.

When will Bafana Bafana play Zambia?

Zambia will face Bafana Bafana on Saturday in Port Elizabeth at the iconic Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, before traveling to Bujumbura for a clash with Burundi on 18 November.

Sichone’s squad will be trimmed after a three-day camp before departure to South Africa.

The friendlies form part of Zambia’s preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025, where they’ve been drawn in Group A alongside Morocco, Mali, and Comoros.
