Kaizer Chiefs Transfer News: Amakhosi set to bring in Zambian star

Published on by

Kaizer Chiefs are set to strengthen in the offseason transfer window hoping to challenge for silverware in the 2026/27 Premier Soccer League.

Despite their promising start in the ongoing campaign, Amakhosi lost it along the way as they failed to deliver when it mattered most. They fell in the initial round of both the Carling Knockout and the Nedbank Cup.

In the CAF Confederation Cup, the Glamour Boys were just a point away from making the knockout phase, but they fell to Zamalek in their final Group D fixture. The latter advanced alongside Al Masry to the next phase.

The Soweto giants also lost three Premier Soccer League games in a row just a couple of weeks ago, to allow Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns to battle each other for the league title. The management is now working on making amends by bringing in new faces.

Kaizer Chiefs ready to sign Zambian star

According to ZamFoot, Amakhosi have now identified ZESCO United star Luka Mutoshi as the man who can help the club make an impact in the forthcoming campaign.

“The lanky midfielder joined ZESCO United in January from ZPL Men’s National League side Kafue Celtic alongside former Zambia U17 national team forward Emmanuel Mwanza. The ZamFoot Crew understands that the Glamour Boys monitored Mutoshi during the CAF Confederation Cup,” the publication reported.

“Mutoshi put in good shifts in the three matches he played: the 1–0 loss to Chiefs away in South Africa, the 1–0 win over Zamalek SC at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, and the 2–0 loss to Al Masry away in Egypt,” they added.

It will be interesting to see is Mutoshi will deliver if the move matrialises, considering the fact that recent imports from Zambia, Lewis Macha and Lazarous Kambole, failed to make an anticipated impact.
