Super Eagles interim coach Austin Eguavoen has unveiled a 23-man squad for Nigeria’s final round of 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda this month.

Auxerre defender Gabriel Osho has been recalled, marking his return to the squad since his first call-up in March.

Additionally, Real Sociedad forward Sadiq Umar rejoins the team, while Taiwo Awoniyi from Nottingham Forest misses out this time.

In attack, the in-form Ademola Lookman will lead alongside Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface and reigning African Footballer of the Year Victor Osimhen.

A notable addition is Victor Collins from Nasarawa United, who earns his first call-up to the Super Eagles, stepping in for the injured Semi Ajayi.

Nigeria currently leads Group D in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers with 10 points from four matches. A draw in either of their two upcoming games would secure their place in the tournament.

The Super Eagles will face Benin on October 14 in Abidjan, followed by a match against Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on October 18 to conclude their qualification campaign. The squad is expected to begin camp after this weekend’s league fixtures.
