Sevilla's new signing Akor Adams has sustained an injury during Thursday’s training session ahead of this weekend’s clash against Barcelona, with the severity of the setback yet to be determined.
The 24-year-old forward joined Sevilla on January 28 in a €5.5 million transfer from Ligue 1 side Montpellier. He made his debut in last weekend’s goalless draw against Getafe in La Liga, coming on as an 81st-minute substitute for Saúl Ñíguez.
The extent of the Nigerian forward's injury remains unclear at this time, but further details are expected to emerge in the coming days.

Adams suffers thigh injury as Sevilla await further assessment
Sevilla have confirmed that Akor Adams picked up an injury during Thursday’s training session, with initial assessments revealing a myotendinous injury in his right rectus femoris.
“Sevilla FC's medical services have reported that… Akor Adams, who [was] injured in Thursday's training session at the training ground, [is] suffering from a pain in [his] right thigh… the Nigerian attacker suffers from a myotendinous injury in the rectus femoris,” the club’s medical team reported in an official statement on Thursday as shared by the club's website.

While the severity of Adams' injury remains unconfirmed, reports suggest that if it is a mild strain, he could be sidelined for one to two weeks.
However, a partial tear may extend his recovery period to three to six weeks, while a complete tear could keep him out for two to three months or longer, potentially requiring surgery.
He left the Ligue 1 side after a difficult stint, registering just three goals and three assists in 15 appearances this season. Adams last found the net on September 22, 2024, enduring an 11-game goal drought despite consistently featuring for Montpellier.
