Akor Adams to Venezia: The one condition holding up the Super Eagles star’s transfer

Published on by

Super Eagles striker Akor Adams is edging closer to a transfer to newly promoted Serie A club Venezia, Afrik-Foot reports.

The 26-year-old marksman has been a major target for Sevilla this summer. Although he had a decent campaign with the club last season, registering ten goals and three assists in 32 games, Sevilla must sell him to comply with La Liga’s financial regulations.

After several weeks of speculation, it has become almost certain that Adams is headed to Italy to join Venezia.

Recall that their initial €10 million bid was rejected; however, they continued to negotiate with the player and eventually agreed on personal terms.

Last week, they struck a deal with Sevilla for €16 million, with €7 million in add-ons. Since then, talks have gone quiet, and Adams has continued training with his teammates.

However, the deal is now set to be finalized, subject to only one final detail.

Why This Key Detail Could Decide Whether Akor Adams Joins Venezia or Not

According to Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba, all parties involved have already reached a middle ground.

He also noted that another La Liga club made inquiries about the Super Eagles star, but Adams insisted on joining Venezia, having already given them his word.

However, there is just one detail left before the deal is confirmed. Adams is expected to travel to Italy soon to undergo his medical.

If he passes the medical, the transfer will be confirmed. This should not be an issue for the Super Eagles star, as he has a clean injury history.

Venezia has already resumed pre-season training, and the Super Eagles star is looking forward to linking up with his new teammates soon.
