Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi has earned a place in the Team of the Week after producing a match-winning performance for Fulham in the Premier League.
The Nigerian midfielder scored the decisive goal against Hull City to secure Fulham’s first win of the season. The victory lifted the London club out of the relegation zone and eased the pressure on manager Álvaro Arbeloa.
Alex Iwobi also registered three key passes as he stamped his influence in the final third for the Craven Cottagers. His overall contribution earned him an Afrik-Foot rating of 8.56, placing him among the outstanding performers across Europe’s top five leagues.
The 30-year-old’s inclusion is particularly significant given the quality of players who join him in the selected team. Chelsea winger Pedro Neto, Bayern Munich’s Luis Díaz and Paris forward Lassine Sinayoko also made the cut after impressive displays for their respective clubs.

Why Alex Iwobi stands out
At 30, Alex Iwobi has already sealed his legacy as one of the most accomplished Nigerian midfielders in Premier League history.
Earlier this season, he became the first African – and one of only five men – to make at least 100 appearances for three Premier League clubs. The Super Eagles playmaker hit the century mark at Arsenal, Everton and Fulham.
He has played more Premier League matches than any Nigerian dead or alive with his 327 appearances a record that would be difficult to surpass.
Iwobi’s Premier League CV also reads 36 goals – 7th on Nigeria’s all-time chart – and 41 assists – another Nigerian record. A disciplined player in all respect, Iwobi has never been shown a red card in his 11 years in the English top-tier.
