Former Arsenal and Real Madrid striker Emmanuel Oluwaseyi Adebayor has described Tolu Arokodare’s spot kick against Crystal Palace as ‘poor’, Afrik Foot reports.
Rob Edwards’ Wolverhampton Wanderers took a huge dopamine hit in midweek following their 2-2 draw against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
Wolves came from behind to overturn a two-goal deficit against the Gunners at the Molineux, but that confidence did not show up in their trip to Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace.

Adebayor criticizes Arokodare’s spot kick
Wolves surprisingly took charge of the game against Oliver Glasner’s men, creating more chances than the home side, but the finishing was just lacking.
Luck finally came their way just before half-time after Adam Wharton tackled Mateus Mane from behind in the Palace box, and the referee Thomas Kirk immediately pointed to the spot, issuing a yellow card to the Crystal Palace midfielder in the process.

Arokodare stepped up, but his tame effort, low to the right, was well collected by Palace’s goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
Adebayor, on punditry duties with TNT Sports alongside Michael Owen, weighed in on the striker’s run-up to the spot kick.
“I don’t understand what he did. I think he’s not himself; maybe it’s a lack of confidence,” the Togolese said, as monitored by Afrik Foot.
“Look at the run up, see how he moved towards the ball, and you could tell he would not score,” Adebayor concluded.

Arokodare’s penalty miss eventually cost Wolves, after defender Ladislav Krejci was given his marching orders in the 61st minute, allowing the Eagles to go all out, and the decision paid off as Evann Guessand scored the game’s only goal in the 90th minute.
Rob Edwards’ side are slipping further towards relegation as they have just one Premier League win this season.
