Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has revealed his opinion of the club’s newest signing, Ademola Lookman, Afrik Foot reports.
The Super Eagles attacker moved to the Wanda Metropolitano from Atalanta in a deal worth €35m, bringing his three-and-a-half-year stint in Bergamo to an end.
The 28-year-old is now looking to get things off to a good start with La Rojiblancos, and his attitude in training has impressed the club’s head coach.

Diego Simeone impressed with Ademola Lookman
The 2014 La Liga winners hastened their pursuit of the former RB Leipzig man largely because they want him involved in their Copa del Rey quarter-final clash against Real Betis tomorrow.
As such, Lookman has begun training with his Atleti teammates, and the club’s decision on the players recruited during the January transfer window pleased Simeone.
“It’s normal for the market to create a feeling of different thoughts and ways of seeing things, and you’re aware of any controversy that might be perceived, we’re all on the same page, seeking the best for Atletico,” the Argentine tactician said in quotes revealed by Fotmob.

“He [Ademola Lookman] joined the group very quickly, and you could immediately notice his physical strength, his speed, his ability to change the play, and his power in the final third,” the 55-year-old said about the 2024 CAF Player of the Year.
“We hope he can help us in the way he believes he can, and in the way we expect.
“And obviously, that important partnerships are formed for the good of the team, because that’s what it’s about: bringing good players together,” Simeone concluded.

Ademola Lookman is only the second-ever Nigerian to sign for Atletico Madrid’s male team. The first was Abass Lawal.
