Former Besiktas midfielder Sinan Engin has joked that scientists should check Victor Osimhen’s genetics after another powerful display from the Nigerian striker in Galatasaray’s 1-0 win over Liverpool, Afrik-Foot reports.
The Turkish champions secured a narrow but important victory at RAMS Park on Tuesday night in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 clash.
Osimhen played a key role in the win. The Super Eagles forward set up the only goal of the game, with Gabon midfielder Mario Lemina finishing from his headed pass. The Nigerian also thought he had scored himself in the second half, but the effort was ruled out for offside after a controversial decision.

Throughout the match, Osimhen caused constant problems for Liverpool’s defence. He battled strongly against centre-backs Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate, pressing, running, and even helping his side during defensive moments.
After watching the performance, Engin could not hide his admiration.
“Galatasaray has an extraordinary player; Victor Osimhen,” Engin said on the Asist Analiz YouTube channel as per Habersarikirmizi.
“You have to look at his genetics, he’s more than just a human. What does this guy eat, man? He must be eating lions. Osimhen has become like a lion. Icardi has been forgotten.”

More praises for Victor Osimhen’s Galatasaray
Engin also praised the overall performance of Galatasaray, saying the Turkish side played with courage and confidence against opponents who were widely seen as favourites.
“Galatasaray is the conqueror of Europe. Galatasaray played as if they were playing against a normal Anatolian team. That’s how I saw Liverpool. Galatasaray is suffocating Liverpool. Liverpool isn’t the old Liverpool, and Juventus isn’t the old Juventus. This is Galatasaray, the Galatasaray that conquered Europe. In other words, your father.”
The former midfielder also applauded head coach Okan Buruk for his attacking approach, even after his side had taken the lead.

“I also congratulate Okan Buruk. He played a very spirited game. You can win 1-0 by defending, but Galatasaray is still looking for a second or third goal even in the 90+4th minute. Galatasaray played their best European match to date. Beating Liverpool in both matches is no small feat.”
Engin also disagreed with the decision to cancel Osimhen’s second-half goal.
“Barış Alper Yılmaz was in a passive position for Galatasaray’s second goal. In my opinion, the goal should have been given. Galatasaray buried Liverpool at Rams Park.”
Galatasaray now travel to Anfield for the return leg next week. A positive result in England would see the Turkish side reach the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time in 13 years.
