Super Eagles winger Moses Simon wrapped up what can best be described as a mixed season as the 2024/25 French Ligue 1 campaign concluded last weekend.

For the second consecutive year, FC Nantes found themselves battling relegation for much of the season.

The Canaries endured a tough run of form, spending several weeks hovering just above the drop zone.

Their survival was only confirmed on the final day of the campaign, a fitting end to another turbulent year for the club.

On an individual level, Simon delivered another solid campaign.

The former Levante winger played a decisive role in the club’s final match of the season, scoring once and providing an assist in a crucial 3-0 win over Montpellier at the Stade de la Beaujoire.

That result secured Nantes’ Ligue 1 status for another season and allowed fans to breathe a sigh of relief.

Simon’s goal in that match was his eighth of the season across all competitions, while his assist brought his tally to ten—making it 18 direct goal contributions this term.

That figure places him among the top Nigerian performers in Europe and despite Nantes struggles, he shone like a million stars.
