Nigerian striker Chukwubuikem Ikwuemesi was the hero for OH Leuven as they secured a 2-0 victory over Beerschot in the Jupiler Pro League on Saturday.
The forward, who had endured a dry spell in recent weeks, returned to scoring form to help his team claim all three points.
Leuven dominated the first half, controlling possession and registering more shots on target. However, they struggled to break down the visitors' defence before the half-time whistle.
The home side came out stronger in the second half, with Ikwuemesi at the forefront of their pursuit of victory.
The 24-year-old Nigerian opened the scoring in the 76th minute, converting a Hamza Mendyl assist to put Leuven ahead.
He then doubled the lead in the 88th minute, sealing the win with his fourth goal of the season.
Ikwuemesi was substituted moments later, with Mathieu Maertens coming on to replace the in-form striker.
The victory lifts OH Leuven to 11th place on the 16-team league table, with 25 points from 20 matches.
