Nigeria’s Super Falcons got their revenge with a strong 3-1 win over Cameroon at the Military Stadium in Yaoundé on Tuesday evening, Afrik-Foot reports.
Just a few days ago, Cameroon had beaten Nigeria 1-0 in the first friendly match of the double-header. A late goal in that game ended the Falcons’ four-year unbeaten run against African teams. But this time, the reigning African champions were ready.
Goals from Chinwendu Ihezuo, Rinsola Babajide and Michelle Alozie helped Nigeria turn things around at the same stadium.
Babajide was the standout player. The AS Roma forward scored once and also provided an assist. She was lively, confident and dangerous throughout the match.

Head coach Justine Madugu also deserves praise. After the first defeat, he made five changes to the starting team. Goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor, Gift Monday, Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene, Glory Ogbonna and Sikiratu Isah all started on the bench.
First-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie returned to the team. She was protected by centre-backs Osinachi Ohale and Tosin Demehin, with Michelle Alozie and Shukurat Oladipo playing as full-backs.
In midfield were captain Rasheedat Ajibade, Christy Ucheibe and Jennifer Echegini, while Ihezuo, Babajide and Folashade Ijamilusi led the attack.

Super Falcons respond after early scare
Cameroon started fast and scored in the seventh minute to take the lead again.
But Nigeria did not panic. They pushed forward and kept attacking. Their pressure paid off in the 32nd minute when Ihezuo jumped highest to head home a fine cross from Babajide.
Just before half-time, Nigeria went ahead. After a scramble inside the box, Babajide reacted quickest to score and make it 2-1.

Shortly after the hour mark, Alozie added the third goal to make the win comfortable. It was her second goal for Nigeria and it sealed a deserved victory.
The Super Falcons will now focus on the upcoming 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Nigeria have been drawn in Group C alongside Egypt, Malawi and Tanzania. The Falcons are the reigning champions, having beaten hosts Morocco 3-2 in last year’s final.
As 10-time African champions, the Super Falcons look ready and determined to defend their title once again.
