Nigeria’s Super Falcons will be desperate to respond when they take on the Cameroon women’s national football team on Tuesday in their final international friendly before the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, Afrik-Foot reports.
The match, scheduled for the Military Stadium Yaoundé, is the second meeting between both sides in a double-header arranged to prepare for the upcoming continental tournament.
Nigeria suffered a narrow 1–0 defeat in Saturday’s first encounter, conceding deep into stoppage time. The late goal served as a timely warning for the African champions ahead of the competition in Morocco.

It was a rare setback for the Falcons. The defeat ended Nigeria’s long unbeaten run against African opposition stretching back to 2022 and also marked their first loss to Cameroon since 2015.
Cameroon secured victory thanks to a dramatic long-range strike from Yvana Mbomezomo, whose effort beat debutant goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor in added time.Nigeria pushed hard for an equaliser after the break.
Head coach Justin Madugu introduced several substitutes, including Joy Omewa, Precious Christopher, Folashade Ijamilusi, Esther Onyenezide and Michelle Alozie. However, Cameroon goalkeeper Ange Bawou produced a superb display to keep the Falcons out.

Super Falcons plan changes ahead of WAFCON
Tuesday’s fixture brings the two-match series to an end and represents Nigeria’s final chance to fine-tune preparations before the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations begins later this month.
Madugu is expected to rotate his squad and adjust tactics as the Falcons chase a stronger performance. First-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie could return to the starting line-up, while Alozie may be handed a defensive role alongside Oluwatosin Demehin, Osinachi Ohale and Glory Ogbonna.
Nigeria also boast several midfield options, including captain Rasheedat Ajibade, Christy Ucheibe, Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene, Jennifer Echegini and Onyenezide, giving the coaching crew plenty of balance between experience and youthful energy.

In attack, Chinwendu Ihezuo or Joy Omewa could lead the line, supported by Gift Monday, Rinsola Babajide and Ijamilusi as the Falcons look to rediscover their scoring touch.
The friendly is expected to be Nigeria’s last test before the WAFCON kicks off on March 17. The Falcons begin their campaign against Malawi on March 18, before further group games against Zambia and Egypt.
Nigeria head into the competition with an outstanding record.
The Super Falcons have never failed to progress beyond the group stage and have reached the semi-finals in every edition, winning the continental crown 10 times from 13 tournaments, a history they will hope to defend strongly in Morocco.
