Across the last five meetings, the two sides have combined for 19 goals in total (six for Chelsea, 13 for Brighton), with both teams finding the net in three of those five encounters. Chelsea must manage a series of absences for this fixture. Wesley Fofana is serving the second game of his suspension, having received a red card on the final day of the 2025-26 season against Sunderland.

Brighton

Brighton’s injury list is equally extensive. Yankuba Minteh is sidelined with a calf problem and is not expected to return before late October.
