Nigeria international Chidera Ejuke expressed his delight at scoring his debut goal for Sevilla during the club's 2-1 victory over Real Valladolid on Tuesday night.

Ejuke, who came on as a substitute for veteran Jesús Navas in the 61st minute, delivered a pivotal performance by skillfully maneuvering past three Valladolid defenders before slotting the ball past goalkeeper Karl Hein in the 89th minute, securing all three points for Sevilla.

The 26-year-old, who spent the 2023/24 season on loan with Belgian side Antwerp, joined the Spanish giants on a free transfer from Russian club CSKA on Monday.

Tuesday's match marked Ejuke's sixth La Liga appearance of the season, during which he has started three games and averaged 53 minutes of play per outing.

“I am really happy; I am really buzzing right now. I feel great. You know it is an important game, an important victory for the team,” he said as relayed by the club's YouTube channel.

“We are just going to take it step by step, game by game. Like you said, it is a very important win for us, you know. We needed this win; we needed this confidence to go into the next games.

“When we stay together, fight together, definitely we are going to keep getting results like this, and we are looking forward to the next games.”
