Ebenezer Akinsanmiro’s ₦11.78bn move to Monza: What you don not know about the transfer

Super Eagles midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro has completed his transfer from reigning Serie A champions Inter Milan to newly promoted club Monza, Afrik-Foot reports.

​The 21-year-old midfielder spent last season on loan at Pisa and featured in 24 games, with one assist to his name. However, he did not join them permanently, as they got relegated to Serie B.

​This summer, he was linked to other clubs like German Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach, but last week, reports emerged that he was headed to Monza, with the newly promoted Serie A club keen on acquiring his services.

​At first, it was believed that Ebenezer Akinsanmiro would join Monza permanently in a deal worth €7.5 million (₦11.78 billion).

​However, it has now been confirmed that the former Beyond Limits Academy graduate will join on a loan transfer with a mandatory buy clause if he meets certain targets.

​If Monza decide to make the signing permanent, they will have to pay Inter Milan €7.5 million, and that will make him the club’s 5th most expensive signing behind Matteo Pessina, Andrea Colpani, Andrea Petagna, and Gianluca Caprari.

​Inter Milan have high hopes for the Super Eagles star, so they inserted a 10% sell-on clause if Monza sign him next summer and eventually sell him later on.

​Akinsanmiro will earn €14,231 gross per week this season at Monza, which amounts to €930,000 per year.

​This will make him the 15th highest earner at Monza, and depending on the agreement in his contract, he could earn significantly more if he joins the club permanently.
