German Bundesliga club Mainz is set to battle Eintracht Frankfurt and Werder Bremen for Nigerian midfielder Anthony Dennis, Afrik-Foot reports.

Dennis has grown in leaps and bounds over the last two years. Since joining Göztepe from Nigerian academy HB Abuja, he has become a pivotal player for the club.

He has been the main man in the middle of the park for the Göz Göz, and this season, he is leading them toward one of their best Süper Lig finishes.

Regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in the Turkish top flight, the 21-year-old has held his own against some of the league’s finest DMs.

Dennis’s performances have not gone unnoticed, as he has previously been linked to several big clubs in Turkey and abroad. Galatasaray emerged as a potential destination last summer, but a deal failed to materialize.

There were also heavy links to Anderlecht, and a transfer looked almost certain at one point, but nothing happened ultimately. Meanwhile, his impressive performances have continued, as has the talk surrounding his future.

According to Ekrem Konur, the German Bundesliga has emerged as a potential destination for Nigerian midfielder Anthony Dennis.

Konur reports that Mainz, Werder Bremen, and Eintracht Frankfurt are all seriously interested in signing the youngster.

The 21-year-old midfielder is known for his high defensive intelligence, strong tackling, and solid aerial ability. He is also recognized for his incredible work rate, leading these clubs to believe he would be a significant asset.

Reports suggest that Göztepe will only listen to offers in the region of €15-20 million. This is significantly higher than his €8 million valuation on Transfermarkt.

However, with Dennis’s contract expiring in the summer of 2027, the club might be forced to negotiate, especially if the Super Eagles prospect refuses to sign a contract extension soon.

That is quite unlikely, as Dennis will surely want to take the next step in his career. He has improved rapidly over the last few years and will undoubtedly be interested in playing for a bigger club in a top European league.

The Göztepe star is viewed as a top prospect for the Super Eagles. if he continues this trajectory, he could eventually succeed Wilfred Ndidi, who is nearing the twilight of his international career.
