Super Eagles penalty snatcher collateral damage as Forest scramble to dodge Premier League axe

Super Eagles winger Emmanuel Dennis might be on the move again as parent club Nottingham Forest race against time to avoid punishment from the Premier League.

Last season, Nottingham Forest was deducted four points for financial irregularities and narrowly escaped relegation, finishing 17th in the 20-team league.

Dennis, who spent the second half of the season on loan at Watford, is among the players earmarked for sale to raise funds.

The 26-year-old has been named as one of the players Nottingham Forest plans to sell to balance their books before June 30.

Nottingham Forest must sell these four players this week to avoid further penalties under the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) according to reports in England.

The club is under significant pressure to ensure a suitable trading profit before their 2023-24 accounting period ends on Sunday, June 30.

Under current PSR rules, clubs are permitted to lose only £105 million over three years. Nottingham Forest, having already faced a four-point deduction earlier this year for breaching these rules, are determined to prevent a repeat in the 2024-25 campaign.

As a result, they are ready to entertain offers for four fringe players. One player likely to be on the move is Nigerian winger Emmanuel Dennis.

The former Club Brugge winger has struggled to find his form at Nottingham Forest and was loaned out to Watford in the Championship last season.

His sale could provide the club with much-needed funds to balance their books and offer Dennis a fresh start, potentially helping him get back into contention for the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles.

The forward missed out on the Nigeria squad for the last Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. With eight caps and one goal for Nigeria, he is keen to re-establish himself on the international stage.

During his loan spell at Watford, Dennis played 18 times, scoring four goals. His departure from Nottingham Forest might help the former Koln man find a new home and reignite his career.
