Super Eagles attacker Femi Azeez has completed his transfer from Millwall to English Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion, Afrik-Foot reports.

Azeez’s future has been one of the major talking points at Millwall this summer. He is coming off a brilliant campaign with Millwall in the English Championship, contributing 11 goals and seven assists in 37 appearances.

That form saw him linked to several clubs, including Ipswich, Hull City, Crystal Palace, and Brighton.

The Seagulls had placed multiple bids for Azeez, but Millwall rejected those offers until today. The 25-year-old is now set to undergo his medical at Brighton to officially complete the transfer before the deadline.

Breakdown of Femi Azeez’s Transfer to Brighton

After two rejected bids of £10 million and £12 million, Millwall accepted an offer of £15 million (₦27 billion) from Brighton, per The Athletic. This is broken down into £12.5 million guaranteed and £2.5 million in add-ons.

Azeez will sign a four-year contract with the option of a one-year extension, meaning he is set to be at the Amex for a long time.

Although the Super Eagles attacker is injured, the move is still expected to go through since he has an excellent injury record.

For Millwall, this is a massive windfall, as Azeez will become their record sale if the add-on conditions are met. Before now, the club’s biggest sale was Romain Esse, whom they sold to Crystal Palace for £14 million.

It is also a massive return on investment for the Championship club, as they paid Reading £1 million for Azeez just two years ago.

More About Azeez’s Transfer to Brighton

Brighton are competing in the Conference League, so manager Fabian Hürzeler needs a large squad. As such, Azeez will play a crucial part in the team.

His ability to play multiple roles also makes him a strong signing for Brighton. On the financial side, it will be rewarding for the Nigerian star: his previous salary was £7,000 per week, but he could potentially become one of the highest earners at the Amex with this move.
