Coventry City head coach Frank Lampard has spoken about Frank Onyeka’s availability ahead of their clash against Bristol City tomorrow, Afrik Foot reports.

The 28-year-old has been in fine form since joining from Brentford in the winter transfer window, playing all four games.

However, he was taken off after 55 minutes in their 2-1 win against Stoke City and was replaced by Victor Torp.

After the game, Lampard confirmed that the Nigerian picked up an injury after suffering from fatigue over the past three weeks.

With eleven games left to spare, Coventry City are currently six points clear at the top of the summit.

Next up is a trip to the Ashton Gate Stadium to face Bristol City, and Lampard has revealed Frank Onyeka is a doubt for the clash.

“He [Onyeka] hasn’t trained much this week but he’s due to train today (Fri) so we’ll see how is for tomorrow,” the former Chelsea head coach said in quotes revealed by the Coventry Telegraph.

“We’ll see how he is out there. He’s been great for us and it’s nice to see that link with the fans who respect a player who gives everything for the team and who has helped improved us

“When we recruited him, his playing profile was different to what we’ve got but also we are quite light on Premier League experience.

“Not many of our players have been exposed to the Premier League whereas lot of other team in the Championship have players who have lots of exposure to it, so there’s an experience and know-how to his game.

“But he’s been a big impact on and off the pitch, and his professionalism has been really good and, clearly, he’s been a positive addition and he’s come in and helped out upturn in recent weeks,” Frank Lampard concluded.
